Description of Work : |
Strengthening of Cargo Berth is consisting
of :
Foundation : 1200 mm dia RCC Cast-in-Situ
Bored Piles (total 351 nos.), maximum depth
of boring about 37 metres, depth of water
10 to 12 metres.
Super Structure : RCC Beams

Remarks
: |
- Piling work has been carried out by Cable
Percussion method.
- Concrete work has been carried out with the
help of Concrete Pump and Batching Plant.
- Corrosive Resistant Steel (CRS) was used for
entire work.
- Above piling work (i.e. providing continious
raw of piles ) is provided to strengthen existing
main cargo jetties of KPT. The work has been
carried out by puncturing carefully the existing
RCC Superstructure with the help of pneumatic
breakers.
- During puncturing utmost care has been taken
by providing safety net / platform to prevent
falling debris in sea.
- Entire work was completed in strict time limit
of 12 months, without effecting normal working
port traffic.
