Description of Work :

Four lane Bridge across Daman Ganga River having length of 559.6 m.

Foundation :1200 mm dia pile
14 nos. of Wells by Floating Caisson method (Well Foundation O.D. 12 & 9 M) Maximum depth of well is about 17.5 metre below well cap level.
Substructure : RCC wall type pier (Max. Height of pier + cap = 6 mtr)

Superstructure :RCC & PSC "I" Beam with RCC Deck Slab Span - (40 m X 10 PSC) & (26.6m X 6 RCC)

Length of bridge : 559.6 mtr

Remarks :
  • Damanganga River is a perennial river and as such the foundation and other parts of bridge had to be constructed in maximum 11.34 meter deep water. The bridge site falls under Tidal Zone of Arabian Sea. The Tidal variation is about 6 m.

  • 1200 mm dia RCC bored piles were constructed to a maximum depth of approx. 13.50 metre by Hydraulic Rig in hard strata.

  • In active part of river 12 mtr dia (5 Nos) & 9 mtr dia (9 nos) well foundation were constructed by floating caisson and sunk to a depth of 4 m through hard rock.

  • The height of the deck of the bridge is about 21.19 m from the deepest river bed level.

  • Superstructure – PSC I Girder of 40 mtr span (weighing 120 MT each- total 50 Nos) & Precast RCC I Girder of 26.6 mtr span (weighing 70 MT each- total 30 Nos) by using Structural structural steel launching truss.
